For The Illiterate

So, i had been off coffee for three and half days. Both of the other two times i’d come here to brewbakers to use the internet i had a gingerbeer instead of a coffee. This time however the draw was too strong. I probably wouldn’t have survived until now if it weren’t for the fact that there is no coffee maker in my house right now. Which totally sucks, cause i have a pound of pike place blend coffee from starbucks sitting around unable to be made by me and enjoyed by the same person. fuck.

oh well, coffee is delicious (don’t any of you dare refute it!!! i know what you’re thinking!!! damned coffee haters! you will all burn!)

Helped Jill and Susanne move out of my house today. Katie left as well. Sam who came up yesterday crashed at the house last night and then took off as well today. I don’t know if Pell will be staying anymore nights on my couch (tonight’s probably my last night at the house) or whether he’ll go home or stay at jill and susanne’s place (new roommates permitting).

Either way, it’s just my stuff in my room again so it’s easier to sort out all the rest of the trash and finally have the final total of my packing for the trip summed up and out on the porch. Trying to decide whether to risk driving the car up to leb without it being inspected, or just giving up, asking Tek for a ride, and telling the donation people to just pick it up whenever they can from my house. swell.

For those of you who aren’t aware. Due to new changes in Student Visas for Australia i don’t have to wait six months and apply for a work visa. As of some point in april, i can start working with my student visa as soon as school starts up. I can work 20 hours a week max while school is in session and elsewise, unlimited hours. Which is a huge bonus!!!! definitely excited about being able to work and make money instead of sucking off what’s left of my savings account. Which i should probably empty soon.

hoorah!

As for when i can arrive in Australia. Apparently, that’s still up to debate. Visa-wise it’s highly likely that it won’t be active until two weeks before school would start which is… uh… something july twenty-somethingth. don’t know off the top of my head, too lazy to look it up right now. but it’s not as early in july as i had been previously imagining. Unfortunately, probably won’t have a decision made for a little bit now. Need to talk to a few people and work timings of things out.

So i came across this on the 15th. and i clicked the link to check out what i assume would be a badass website of interest and wonder!!! but it said that it didn’t launch until the 15th. So i figured i’d wait until later since it would be launching later that day. But now it’s the 18th, and no such luck. Still says it’s going to launch on the 15th. grrr… bastards… I’M WAITING!!!!

time for a random collection of internet news!!!:

oh well… Read an instructable the other day on how to hitchhike… it was fun… but pretty much common sense. Apparently the new indiana jones got a standing ovation at the cannes film festival. Nice!

Smiling can be bad for your health!
i knew those jobs were evil!!!

Saw Speed Racer! IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! FUCK YEAH!!!!! IN YOUR FACE DAD!!!

ehem…

and Persepolis. Which was pretty damned cool too. Gorgeous animation. Cool insight into a life that absolutely no one around here understands at all, including myself. I still don’t understand it all (poor understanding of history and politics, you see). Have to watch it a few more times and do research.

anyway, this has been a long fucking post, so i’m done now. Go away!

out
